Considering he’s the most successful American Le Mans Series driver in history and has been intimately involved with Corvette Racing since its early stages, racing pilot Johnny O’Connell knows a thing or two about handling. So who better to partner with Pfadt Racing to develop a suspension package that’s dead-on, right out of the box?

The C5 & C6 Corvette Pfadt/Johnny O’Connell Stage 1 Suspension Package is the result of combining the professional driving skills from Johnny O’Connell and the engineering expertise of Pfadt to give you a suspension package tuned to perfection.

This suspension system has gone through countless engineering revisions and A/B testing on the race track, mountain passes and stretches of pot-hole riddled road. The purpose - to provide you with a suspension that has race car level road holding ability and the street ability you would expect from your daily driver Corvette.

With this package, you don’t need to know how to tune your own suspension, because the work is already done for you. The Johnny O’Connell “Stage 1″ package includes 35mm front and 28mm rear hollow bars, upgraded end links, bushings and gas-charged, non-adjustable monotube shocks.

O’Connell’s philosophy is simple: “When we improve cars, it doesn’t mean you have to be a race car driver, it actually means the opposite. It makes the car easier to drive,” he said.

This is a philosophy engineered into all Pfadt suspension products. The Johnny O’Connell signature suspension is the epitome of street driving performance. Upgrading to this package will give your Corvette a better balanced, better performing and more easily managed suspension on the street, while giving up nothing at the track.

This is a ”set it and forget it” upgrade where you can trust that the work Pfadt and O’Connell have done is already optimized for your Corvette chassis.

Without argument, C5 Corvette handling is world class – right out of the box.  But we know that some of you want to get a little closer to Mother Earth, and have near-infinite adjustability once you get there. That’s why Zip has combined three of our most popular suspension upgrades into an all-in-one package!Zip’s 1997-2004 C5 Corvette Stage 1 Suspension Package includes Zip’s lowering kit and front and rear bump steer kits. Drop your C5 by 1-2 ” without sacrificing ride quality and maintain correct geometry throughout full range of suspension travel. Perfect for daily drivers, track day enthusiasts and weekend autocrossers.

If fast corners and sanctioned high-speed cruising call to you, consider pairing your Stage 1 Suspension Package with Zip’s 1997-2011 C5 & C6 Corvette Stage 2 Anti-Sway Bar Package. You’ll quickly see why these beefy anti-sway bars are a must. This set-up greatly reduces body roll and understeer for a more balanced – and safer – suspension. The Stage 2 package includes 1 3/8″ front and 1″ rear anti-sway bars with polyurethane bushings and ADDCO HD end links.

Pair these two packages of quality Corvette Parts for unsurpassed C5 suspension performance. But take note - Zip’s suspension packages require disassembly of suspension, so advanced installation capabilities are recommended.  Think it’s more than you want to tackle on your own? 1963-1982 U-Joint Removal Tool
1963-1982 U-Joint Removal Tool

Repairing your half shafts by replacing your U-joints has never been easier, thanks to Zip Corvette’s Driveshaft/Half Shaft U-Joint Removal Tool.

This handy tool simplifies the tricky job of pressing out the U-joint caps in both the half shaft and the U-joints by providing a solid receiver cup and bearing cap plug for use with a bench vise or shop press. No more trying to find the proper size sockets and risk damaging those sockets, yokes or flanges while pressing out the U-joint caps.

This tool is also a slide hammer with a trick up its sleeve. The slide hammer attaches to the U-joint cap while it is partially out of the yoke and allows you to quickly and easily pop it completely out. By using the proper tools for the job, you minimize the chance of damaging the yokes and flanges, you shorten the time spent in the garage and you get your Corvette back out on the road – where it belongs!

Read our instructions describing how to use the 1963-1982 Corvette Driveshaft/Half Shaft U-Joint Removal Tool for C2, C3 Corvettes. We also have step by step instructions that show you how to replace your Corvettes Differential Half Shaft U-Joint, at CorvetteMagazine.com.
