  1. What is the small square hole for on the back of Outer Heater Box cover? Also, it’s my understanding that those units without air for the 68 did not have a relay, is that correct? If there was a relay on those units w/o air where is the relay physically located. The reason I aske is, I have a 68 w/o air and I noticed air coming out of that small square hole in the outer heater core cover, is that normal? Shortly there after my unit completely stopped working. I figure either the contol switch has failed or I have a bad heater blower motor. The wiring appears to be fine as well as the fuse is OK. Could the problem be anything else besides the switch or the heater blower motor? Any information would be appreciated.

  2. Mike:
The square hole you are referring to may be for the blower motor resistor. This is the only electrical component between the switch and blower motor assembly. There is no relay in the system. Put 12 volts to the blower motor to test, you can also test the switch with an ohm meter before you start replacing parts.
