1992-1996 LT1 & LT4 Corvette: The MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor Wire is “the” performance wire for C4 Corvettes. Engineered from the inside out, the 8.5 offers everything you have ever wanted in a wire; incredibly low resistance without electronic interference! In a single 12 inch length of Super Conductor Wire there is only 40 – 50 ohms of resistance! That is the lowest resistance of any helically wound wire. To accomplish this, MSD uses a copper alloy conductor due to its great voltage carrying capabilities. The low resistance results in less loss in spark energy so more reaches the spark plug. The conductor is wound extremely tight around a special center core. So tight in fact, that there is over 40 feet of conductor wrapped into a single foot of plug wire. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) “choke”. 1992-1996 LT1 & LT4 Corvette: These MSD Ignition Coils include the patented MSD performance enhancements inside a factory style housing! MSD designed these Coils by combining their Blaster Coil experience with E-core coil efficiency. Each coil has a unique turn ratio plus there is lower primary resistance than the stock Corvette coil. This all amounts to a bolt-in replacement coil that produces more output voltage. The coils will work with stock ignition systems as well as MSD equipped Corvettes.

1992-1996 LT1 & LT4 Corvette: MSD’s all-out performance distributor replaces the OEM LT1 Optispark distributor! They machine an entire billet block of aluminum down into a precise housing that fits in place of the factory piece. Then, MSD fills it with a reliable new pick-up assembly, a trick timing adjustment mechanism and new distributor cap! The pick-up is an advanced optical encoder, a different style of optical pickup than the OEM. This type of pick-up has proven to be very reliable and stable through extreme rpm and conditions. The rotor is bolted to a drive assembly that is indexed to the shaft and is stabilized through the use of a large ball bearing assembly. Once installed, you have the ability to adjust the ignition timing. An adjustment screw allows the timing to be modified up to +/-5°. The distributor is equipped with a fresh air vent and has an extra thick mounting surface for the cap to eliminate leaks. 1997-2004 LS1 & LS6 Corvette: MSD Ignition’s Multiple Spark Coils (MSC) will fit in place of the stock Corvette coils and connect directly to the factory connectors. Once installed, you will have the power and performance of higher energy sparks, crowned with MSD’s multiple spark discharge. Increased spark energy and voltage, along with multiple spark capabilities help improve the combustion process of the fuel mixture to create an efficient burn. This results in improved throttle response, smooth idle and quick starts, plus increased high rpm performance!

2005-2009 Corvette: There is now an MSD performance replacement coil for the popular LS2 Corvette Engine. The complex electronic controls of the original coils presented the aftermarket with a challenge as the drivers that control the firing of the coils are built into the OE models. MSD engineers were able to design an advanced circuit that will operate with the factory electronics of the C6 Corvette engine controls while producing a higher output spark. Not only do you get a higher voltage spark, but the coil will deliver multiple sparks. Notice that the coil has two connectors molded into the custom housing. One accepts the factory coil connector; the other is for an upcoming ignition controller. (This controller is still in the development stages but it will allow you to program functions of the ignition.) The new coils mount in place of factory LS-2 coils.
